So what is Puerto Banus?
Puerto Banus, in Marbella southern Spain, is a harbour area catering for the
tastes of the seriously rich.
The non-commercial marina is home to fabulous yachts, surrounded by designer boutiques, exclusive restaurants, expensive cars and glamorous night spots.
Playground of the rich and famous since it developed from
a fishing village in the 1970's Puerto Banus is now the glitzy, international
symbol for 'money'.
Here nothing is understated or discreet, nobody is embarrassed by their newly
acquired wealth - after all, if you've got it, flaunt it.
Probably the definitive word in todays brand-name culture is owning an apartment in Puerto Banus. Naturally, being at the cutting edge isn´t cheap and most properties will cost you upwards of $400k. A new apartment can start from $1m.
Window shopping or a $3 coffee on a shady terrace whilst checking out the catwalk around the marina is something anyone can do. Fortunately soaking up the surroundings and admiring the impressive Sierra Blanca mountain range is free.
The Costa del Sol's popularity as a year round golf and tourist destination ensures Puerto Banus is vibrant not just in the summer.
If you win the lottery or raid the bank, then Puerto Banus is here, waiting.....
